April 28 – Fire Alarm

At 823am we were dispatched for a fire alarm at the Hampton Inn.  As usual, the management, who in the case of all hotels, is extensively trained in firefighting procedures, reset the alarm prior to our arrival.  Upon the arrival of Eng 3-1 with a staffing 4, was told that there was an odor of wires burning in the food prep room.  As the crew went to investigate, Engine 3-2 stood-by at the hydrant on Commerce Ct.  After further investigation we found the odor was coming from a over heated freezer.  As always, 3 Deputy explained to the management the importance of NOT resetting the alarm.
